HISTORY Guma
San Jose Homeless Shelter was established in April 1990 through a contract with
DPHSS/BOSSA to provide a 24-hour, 7-days a week emergency shelter for
homeless individuals and families in Guam.
STATISTICS 301 individuals were served during
last fiscal year. 106 homeless
applicants had to be turned away due to the unavailability of space. |
A homeless individual or family may stay for up to a maximum stay of 60 days. Individuals not on food stamps are provided 3 meals a day. Transportation are provided to access services. Caseworker assists clients in seeking training or employment, housing, applying for section 8 program. He also n
etworks with government, and non-profit organizations to provide needed
services. Community donors includes the U.S. Naval Regional Medical Center Chapel of Hope children and schools, other organizations
