HISTORY

 

On October 2, 1995, Catholic Social Service opened its doors to provide adult day care services through funding by the Dept. of Public

 Health and Social Services (DPH&SS), Division of Senior Citizens (DSC).  The need for services saw the addition of ADC II to serve the central and southern areas. 

 

 

STATISTICS

 

Total Capacity is thirty-five (35) elderly clients with dementia.

 

 

 

The elderly are shown participating in various activities.

 

 

 

 

The Dementia Center features a full spectrum of services tailored to meet individual needs of older adults with dementia while giving peace of mind and time out for their caregivers.  It is an intimate place with friendly atmosphere.

 

The Dementia Center brings a broader dimension to the lives of the elderly with dementia and allows them to retain maximum independence.

 

 

Our services include:

 

*   Social activities including entertainment, exercises and crafts

*   Group outings

*   Nutritious, delicious snacks and hot lunches

*   Feeding, toileting and transferring (in/out of bed) services are provided

*   Rest periods (beds are available)

 

The Dementia Center is available Monday – Friday to individuals 60 years and older with dementia.  

 

Caring for an older adult with dementia may become a full time responsibility. It may even require quitting a job and sacrificing a social life. It can be physically and emotionally draining. It gives the participant much needed rest and time to do necessary and enjoyable activities knowing your loved one is well cared for.

 

Hours of service is from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Monday – Friday except on holidays
